Engineers Australia is the trusted voice of the profession. They are the global home for engineering professionals renowned as leaders in shaping a sustainable world.

The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland administers the Queensland Professional Engineers Act 2002. The act provides for the registration of professional engineers to practise in Queensland.

Registration as a professional engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is recognition of the qualifications and competencies of an engineer. Engineers occupy positions of trust and responsibility within the community, with industry and across government. An engineer plays a critical role in the design and construction of major infrastructure as well as providing critical engineering services to the mining and growing resources sector in Queensland. Engineers aren’t limited to the building sector. They play an important role in the construction manufacturing sectors. There are currently 25 areas of engineering in Queensland ranging from aeronautical, chemical, to marine engineers. By having a registration system this ensures a high standard of engineering exists within Queensland.
